Security Cameras, Doorbells and Intercoms That Record at Home

We install wired UniFi Protect camera systems: indoor and outdoor cameras powered over PoE and recorded on a UniFi recorder in your home. You see live and recorded video in the UniFi Protect app, and there are no monthly camera fees. We also install video doorbells and DoorBird video intercoms at front doors and gates.

How We Do It

A camera system is only as good as its placement, wiring and network, so we handle all three.

  1. Site walkWe walk the property with you, mark each camera, doorbell and intercom location, and agree on what each one needs to see.
  2. Network and recorderThe UniFi recorder, PoE switch and gateway go in a rack or equipment closet, on their own circuit.
  3. WiringOne Cat6 home run per camera, routed through attics, eaves and conduit, with outdoor-rated cable where it's exposed.
  4. Mount and aimCameras are mounted on weather-sealed junction boxes, aimed and focused, and checked day and night.
  5. Detections and alertsWe set recording modes, detection zones and notifications so your phone only buzzes when it matters to you.
  6. Hand-offWe set up the UniFi Protect and DoorBird apps for each household member and show you how to find and share a clip.

FAQs

Are there monthly fees for UniFi Protect cameras?

No. Video records to a UniFi recorder in your home, and the UniFi Protect app for viewing live and recorded video has no subscription. Your internet service is the only ongoing cost for viewing away from home.

Can you replace my existing cloud or battery cameras?

Yes. We remove the old cameras, test any existing camera cable and reuse it where it's good, and run new Cat6 where it isn't. The new cameras are wired with PoE, so there are no batteries to charge and no Wi-Fi to drop.

Can I see my cameras on my Savant or Control4 system?

Yes. Camera feeds can be added to the Savant and Control4 apps and touch panels. We set it up as part of the integration.

How long is footage kept?

It depends on the number of cameras, the resolution, whether they record continuously or only on events, and the size of the drives in the recorder. We size the storage for how far back you want to be able to look, and drives can be added later.
